Environmental Assessment and Remediation/Regulatory Agency Coordination/Community Relations –
  • CERTA purchased a contaminated piece of property under RCRA Enforcement. Once the purchase price was agreed upon the property closed within thirty days of offer.
  • Services include assessment and mitigation of environmental liability, asbestos inspections; indoor air testing and mitigation, identification of potential redevelopment resources; preparation of financial assistance: and investigation and remediation strategies on behalf of the stakeholders.
  • CERTA Completed a Phase I ESA, Risk Assessment, Site Demolition planning, and auction of existing plant assets.
Key tasks included:
  • Developing a successful exit strategy for seller which included CERTA signing a new USEPA Administrative Order to be the responsible party for the remaining clean up.
  • The Property is currently restricted to commercial or industrial use.

Environmental Assessment and Remediation/Regulatory Agency Coordination/Community Relations –
  • Members of CERTA orchestrated a deal to allow a seller of a contaminated piece of property as is and close within thirty days of offer. Members of CERTA were required to rehabilitate the property to obtain an Occupancy Permit and guarantee that the site would receive a No Further Action letter. They received the NFA within six months.
  • Services include assessment and mitigation of environmental liability, asbestos inspections; identification of potential redevelopment resources; preparation of financial assistance proposals; development of community outreach plans; and investigation and remediation activities on behalf of the stakeholders.
  • Members of CERTA Completed a Phase II ESA, Risk Assessment, Selective Site Demolition and Remediation in support of an Ohio Voluntary Action Program (VAP) No Further Action Letter (NFA).
Key tasks included:
  • Key stakeholder meetings, thorough review of environmental reports, developing a successful exit strategy for seller.
  • As part of the NFA, the Property is currently restricted to commercial or industrial use, which means it can be used for anything but residential purposes.

  • Members of CERTA purchased the tax lien of a contaminated piece of property. The property was then placed into a receivership through the courts. Members of CERTA worked with the receivership and a developer to negotiate the successful acquisition and redevelopment of the property.
  • Services include assessment and mitigation of environmental liability, identification of potential redevelopment resources; preparation of financial and legal assistance; development of outreach plans; and investigation and remediation strategies on behalf of the stakeholders.
